What is Striping?
Striping is also known as traffic marking. This organizes and establishes the flow of traffic. It also marks clear parking spaces. Striping should be consistent using bright colors and durable lines for spaces, arrows, clearly marked fire lanes, etc. The most common type of paint used for striping is water-based acrylic traffic paint.
There are other paints beside acrylic such as solvent based alkyd resin and solvent based chlorinated rubber. Water-based acrylic paint is very durable, and has high brightness and durability. That is the reason most parking lots use water-based acrylic paint.
